A crown is a type of dental restoration used to fix teeth that have been broken, weakened by decay or have a very large filling.
More Information
Crown’s fit over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, giving it a protective cover making it strong and also giving it the shape of a natural tooth. There are a variety of crowns available to choose from ranging from metal silver or gold coloured crowns, to completely metal-free tooth coloured crowns, giving a more natural appearance.
Crowns are generally recommended after root canal treatment to protect restored tooth, allowing you to eat and bite down on it as if it was a real tooth.
